Academy for Learning
Homelessness Queensland’s Academy for Learning (A4L) supports people to strengthen their practice, leadership and connections across homelessness, housing and related human services.
Our learning opportunities bring together practical knowledge, reflection and the experience of people working in the sector. They are designed for new and experienced workers, supervisors, leaders and organisations.

Training and workshops
Practical sessions on topics relevant to everyday work, including person-centred practice, collaboration, supervision, safety and risk assessment, advocacy and worker wellbeing.
Practice Collective
A facilitated six-month learning program where practitioners, supervisors and leaders meet with peers to reflect on their work, share challenges and strengthen their practice.
Holding Space
A reflective space for workers to pause, connect and think together about the demands of their work. Holding Space will return in the new year.
Micro-credentials
Self-paced learning developed by Homelessness Queensland in partnership with Central Queensland University through a Queensland Government funded project. The micro-credentials support foundational practice across homelessness and related sectors. Eligible learners can access them through CQU.

Learning for organisations and local government
The HQ's Academy for Learning works with homelessness and housing services, other human services organisations and local governments to develop training suited to their teams and communities. This includes tailored workshops, refresher sessions and practice support for staff who encounter homelessness in their work.
